Points of Inspection

Propane System


A comprehensive RV inspection includes the assessment of the propane system, which consists of propane tank(s), a propane regulator, propane lines, propane connections, propane appliance shut-off valves, a propane leak test, propane tank covers, propane tank mounting, and an auto-changeover valve (if equipped).


Exterior


During RV maintenance, the exterior inspection covers details such as roof condition, roof seams and seals, roof vents, A/C shroud(s), skylights, TV antenna/satellite, solar panels (if equipped), sidewall condition, front cap, rear cap, windows, window seals, entry door(s), entry door lock(s), entry door seal(s), baggage doors, baggage door seals, baggage door locks, awning(s), awning hardware, exterior lights, clearance lights, running lights, brake lights, turn signals, backup lights, license plate light, porch light(s), utility lights, exterior receptacles, ladder (if equipped), roof rack (if equipped), bike rack (if equipped), bumper, and hitch receiver.


Interior


The interior examination during RV inspections includes flooring condition, wall condition, ceiling condition, cabinet condition, cabinet doors and drawers, countertops, interior lights, window treatments, furniture condition, upholstery, mattress(es), and interior doors.


Undercarriage


The undercarriage assessment for RV maintenance includes checking the frame condition, frame crossmembers, underbelly condition, underbelly attachments, dump valves, holding tank(s), and fresh water tank.


Running Gear


Key components of running gear such as axle(s), suspension components, shock absorbers, leaf springs/torsion bars, equalizer(s), wheel bearings, tires, wheels, lug nuts, and spare tire are evaluated in RV inspections.


Electrical Systems


A thorough examination of electrical systems during RV maintenance covers shore power inlet, power cord, breaker panel, GFCI outlets, 120V outlets, 12V system, battery(ies), battery disconnect, converter/charger inverter (if equipped), generator (if equipped), generator fuel (for additional fee), generator exhaust, generator hour meter, solar controller (if equipped), fuse panel, 12V outlets/USB ports, and thermostat(s).


Plumbing


Plumbing inspections focus on fresh water fill, city water connection, water pump, water lines, hot water heater, hot water heater anode rod, faucets, shower, toilet, black tank flush (if equipped), gray tank, black tank, tank monitors, low point drains, water filter (if equipped), and winterization valve.


Safety Items


For safety, essential items include emergency exit window(s), fire extinguisher, first aid kit, smoke detector test, CO detector test, and LP detector test.


Comfort and Convenience


In terms of comfort and convenience, the operation of the furnace, air conditioner, thermostat, ceiling fan(s), vent fan(s), and entertainment system is evaluated during RV inspections.


Appliances


RV inspections also cover appliances such as refrigerator (LP operation, 120V operation, and 12V operation), refrigerator door seals, microwave, range/cooktop, oven, range hood/vent, washer/dryer (if equipped), and dishwasher (if equipped).


Slide-out Systems


The functionality of slide-out systems, including slide room operation, slide room seals, slide room topper(s), slide room floor transition, slide room wall alignment, slide mechanism, and slide support jacks, is assessed during RV maintenance.


Tent Trailer Components


Tent trailer components are assessed, including canvas/tent material, tent seams, tent zippers, lift system, bed end supports, screen condition, and stabilizer jacks.


Toy Hauler Components


For toy haulers, components examined include the garage area, ramp door operation, ramp door seal, ramp door cable/spring system, tie-down points, and fuel station (if equipped), as well as the garage floor drain.


Motorhome Components


Finally, the motorhome components inspection includes the engine compartment, engine oil level, transmission fluid level, coolant level, power steering fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, belts and hoses, air filter, fuel filter, exhaust system, chassis battery, chassis electrical, steering components, drive axle, transmission, brake system, leveling system, driver controls, dashboard gauges, mirrors, windshield wipers, horn, headlights, fog lights, and front turn signals.
